Description

  • Multi phase project carrying out the extension and total refurbishment of Regional Distribution Centre in Bridgend, South Wales. 
  • Prichard’s have worked with German Main Contractor WSG to carry out all of the associated groundworks over the past 12 months and still have a remaining 10 months left on the project in the final phase.

 Phase 1 works Completed to Date (Nov 2022):

  •  Prichard’s carried out an initial Cut and Fill operation of over 10,000m3 of material to achieve the required profiling on site. 

  • An existing stockpile bund of over 25,000m3 of Inert soil and stone was taken offsite with Prichard’s own wagons and recycled at one of Prichard’s recycling facilities. 

  • Prichard’s then carried out the groundworks to the main warehouse extension. This included concrete pad foundations and a ring beam to support the building. All setting out, steel fixing, formwork and concrete laying were carried out by Prichard’s own in house personnel. 

  • Prichard’s completed the full construction of a new staff car park to house the RDC’s staff. This car park has comprised of: 

    • Over 1200m of surface water drainage of sizes ranging from 100mm—750mm in size and connection to existing outlet. 

    • Supply and Installation of a 2,500m3 fully lined Attenuation Tank. 

    • Supply and Installation of a 15m long Interceptor at a depth of 5m. 

    • Over 900m of Trief and HB2 Kerbs to the car park and footpaths. 

    • 3,200m2 of permeable block paving to the parking bays. 

    • 2,900m2 Flexible surfacing and line marking. 

Prichard’s have also installed Aco Drainage throughout the RDC yard and carried out the surfacing and overlay surfacing to an area of over 30,000m2. 

The team has also carried out the extension to the site Admin Block and carried out all of the steel work and concrete floors to two levels of new building. 

The works are currently progressing well and are on target to achieve the clients programme dates.
