Description

Asbestos Removal and Demolition, Landscape of Prince Court and 6 other sites within Ebbw Vale.

The sites were of a confined nature and consisted of a selection of high-rise flats, 2 storey houses and a care home all within a residential area with occupied homes very close to our operations.

Prince’s Court was a 4 storey block of flats with a foot print of 4000m2 traditional build concrete frame with brick infill, all floors were insitu concrete reinforced, Licenced asbestos removal works were carried out under full control by our preferred contractor. The buildings were fully soft stripped, materials were 97% recycled at our own recycling facility.

Traditional top down demolition works were carried out using our demolition high reach machine and attachments ensures the safest way to deconstruct a building to slab level.

Slabs and foundation were removed using excavator fitted with hammer then loaded into 8 wheeled lorries, All demolition hardcore was taken to Prichards recycling facility to be 100% recycled.

The site was landscaped using suitable subsoil then finished with topsoil and seeded.

The project was completed on programme despite the discovery of additional asbestos and minimum disturbance to residents. We have since been given the opportunity to give Tia Calon budget prices for future demolition projects

Tai Calon provided a reference for this project as they new the challenges we faced and the way we dealt with the local residents and their concerns which resulted in a positive out come and feedback from the local Councillor.
