Description

Prichard’s were appointed by Penllyn Estates Farm as Principal Contactor to construct a 850m long access road into the farm. The road consisted of removing the existing topsoil, excavations into the subsoil below, bringing up the site and levels with imported capping, subbase and a 210mm thickness of macadam.

1,650m of drainage and catchpits have been installed. Services have also been installed for lighting and telecom connections.

A 950m footpath was constructed using a modular crate and gravel system and post and rail fencing was installed around the site perimeter.

The project has also included the surfacing, white lining, signage, raised table speedbumps. And a dry stone entrance wall.

The works are being carried out to programme and budget and Prichard’s have worked closely with Designers Brookbanks and the client to ensure the scheme is a success.

Prichard’s have also constructed a car park for the new Forage farm shop consisting of permeable surfacing, car parking bays on modular crates, installing of a Graf foul treatment plant, soakaways, white lining, edging, footpaths and soakaways for the surface water drainage.

“We at Penllyn Estate Farm have been very impressed with the works carried out by Prichard’s over the past year for our new access road and Farm Shop. The team and management have gone above and beyond on this project and have hit all program dates and targets. We are very happy with the end result and look forward to working with the Prichard’s team again” – John Homfray Estates Owner — Penllyn Estates LLP
